Prostate Cancer Prayer
The disease that killed my dad and brother almost got me. Thankfully, it was caught just in time before it spread and I am now cancer-free. This poster was created to help and encourage others who are going through prostate cancer — and to thank Dr. Eric Levy at Sutter Roseville in CA who saved my life. Grateful to Intuitive Surgical for inventing the DaVinci robot and changing the procedure from life-threatening to life-saving! A photo of the robot is on the right side of the poster. In memory of his dad, Dan Derepentigny provided the local Rocklin, CA UPS branch, Manchester, NH distribution center and Atlanta headquarters with a custom designed poster to remind and motivate them in all they do. UPS is one of the very best transportation companies in the world, and it’s because of the dedicated employees who work there every day giving it their all.

Friends For Survival
Life feels better helping people, especially in the face or middle of disappointment and heartbreaking self-destruction. There is a group of volunteers Dan Derepentigny met with after a colleague and longtime friend committed suicide named Friends for Survival. As a result of that meeting he knew that he would like to help families affected by suicide, who grieve their loss of that family member or individual for decades (and often for life) trying to make sense of what happened. If you ever hear of anyone kidding about taking their own life, expressing the desire to want things over or struggling emotionally, please take it seriously and call the suicide prevention line for help at 1-800-273-8255 (24 hours a day).
Dan is helping by providing some brand new donor solutions that will solve some of their most challenging issues — all to help families grieving from a suicide loss. Every day begins with “Lord, put someone in my path that I can help today”. At first, he thought he would chronicle the daily events, but as it unfolded magnificently on a daily basis the writing about it became more difficult than the actual experience. As a result, he is compiling it and will include that in a future blog. It is going to be amazing!

In addition, he strives to puts others ahead of himself and constantly goes “the extra mile”. In the past Dan has been a professional kickboxer and Golden Gloves boxer on ESPN TV, a Stockbroker at Lehman Brothers and AG Edwards, a High School Teacher at an inner city school, a Homeless shelter volunteer in Boston, Insurance Salesman, Educational and Internship consultant working in Paris France, UFC Coach, Marathon Runner (14), and Real Estate Agent.
In his free time you can usually find him at the gym lifting weights he shouldn’t be lifting (and will be again when quarantine is over) or coaching others to keep pushing and never give up, yes ISYMFS and no excuses. His favorite activity is biking, hiking, kayaking, running or anything outdoors to do with his kids Peyton and Jack or wife Trish. His secret goal is to bike across America or hike the entire Pacific Crest Trail someday. Following dreams, spending time with family and using his creativity is important to him.
